There will be a new Sheriff in town as voters in the County of Sacramento will choose a new top cop in November. Supported by RHA’s Political Action Committee and current Sheriff John McGinnis, Jones has worked for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department for over 20 years and is now a candidate for Sheriff. As the owner of rental properties, Jones brings a unique perspective to the office and understands the challenges owners and managers face every day. If elected, Jones will have to navigate difficult times, including budget cuts and fewer officers on the streets.
Hear Jones discuss the following issues:
• Budget Cuts and Community Impacts – how will recent budget cuts impact the Sheriff’s department and what does it mean for our communities?
• Law Enforcement Cost Recovery Ordinance – hear Jones’ opinion of a possible ordinance to charge apartment owners for costs associated when law enforcement officials respond too frequently to calls for service at apartment communities.
• Parcel Tax to Support Law Enforcement Services – one possible solution to increase the number of cops in our communities is to impose a parcel tax. Does Jones support this idea?
• Safer Apartment Communities – hear Jones’ ideas for making apartment communities safer by reducing crime.
